LIVE MUSIC: Tony Jay, Thomas Dollbaum, Paul Arámbula, & 11111angels ~ Doors at 7:00 PM & Music at 8:00 PM

Tony Jay

Tony Jay is the musical project of Michael Ramos, the former member of (April Magazine, Cindy and many others). Tony Jay began recording in 2006, added a live band in 2017, and has released many digital EPs, several cassettes, and two records.

The music of Tony Jay is characterized by subtle observation and wry wit. The lyrics embody a restlessness coupled with Tony Jay's signature hopeful resignation. Here are the daily ins and outs of heartache, isolation, and yearning. But here too is attention, a will to go on even amidst surrender. Ideal company for those days when you're not sure you'll ever make it out the door.

Thomas Dollbaum

Thomas Dollbaum is a musician and songwriter from Tampa, Florida. In 2015, Dollbaum began attending University of New Orleans for his masters in poetry—while in the city, he began writing the songs that eventually became Wellswood, his debut album. Since its release in 2022 by Fat Possum subsidiary Big Legal Mess (AllMusic said he “paints the bleakest pictures with a knowing grin, delivering lyrics of rough-living characters and their grim stories as gorgeous, softly glowing Americana”), Dollbaum has toured heavily, sharing stages with folks like Damien Jurardo, Dougie Poole, and Superwolves.

Paul Arámbula

A timeless collection of heartfelt and abstract pop, as obscured through the lenses of Robert Wyatt, Legendary Pink Dots, and an amalgamation of aspects from the Flying Nun catalog. Although he has lived in Berlin for most of the past decade, Paul has always been close-by on the localized level of Phoenix/ Tempe, Arizona. Living there, it would have been impossible to not find Paul: From his “legendary if you caught them as the opener for your band’s Phoenix tour date” group The Chandails, to eclectic post-punk trio Vegetable. Paul’s solo output has ranged from primitive guitar (think no-wave blues) to large ensemble noise-assault poetry, with his current approach to orchestrated and dynamic songwriting yielding material that feels both raw and highly intricate / orchestrated.

Paul's latest album 'Still’s Keep' (January 2025 - Gilgongo Records) was recorded between 2016 – 2023 in Berlin, Phoenix and New York. Mixing and mastering by John Dieterich (Deerhoof). It follows 2021’s ‘Towantowanto’ (on German/ Lithuanian label Musikii), 2020’s ‘Submarine & Walk Thru This World With Me’, a 7” & CD set, (also on Gilgongo) and appearances on 3 incredible compilations on Kashual Plastik. In that time, he has performed throughout Europe, including KRAAK Fest in Brussels. The album release for 'Still’s Keep' was held in December 2024 at Blank Forms in NYC. —James Fella of Gilgongo Records
