BORN IN FLAMES (1983)

Good day, this is Piranha and Kafka X broadcasting from the Phoenix Regazza radio station. This month's Movie Madhouse is the day before the US presidential inauguration and so we wanted to help light the fires of rebellion with the seminal 1983 film Born in Flames, directed by Lizzie Borden. Set 10 years after a nonviolent socialist democratic revolution supposedly gives equality to all, the film examines, in a manner all too prescient over forty years later, how the revolution didn't carry everyone into the promised future and how different groups can unwittingly stand in each other's way.
